Notes

Matthew Swannell is referred to as a collarmaker in 1777. John Swannell, perhaps his father (a Matthew Swannell son of John was bap. at Swanbourne on 4 Nov 1744), is also recorded as a collarmaker in 1757 and 1764, and was living at "the upper end of the Butter Market" (site of 3-5 Market Square) in 1752.
