Notes

William Stevens was aged 48 when he died.  The 1871 Census shows that he was born at Barton, Oxon, and was living in Cowley’s Walk (now The Walk) with his wife Louisa (born in Switzerland, aged 51) and son Thomas (aged 17, apprentice carpenter, born at Barton).  William Stevens married Louise [sic] Monney in 1854 in Woodstock registration district (probably at Steeple or Westcot Barton).  Louisa was still living in Winslow in 1881 on “income from house rents”. William probably worked for the Greaves family of Western House.
