The thirde daye of September in ye yere of our Lorde 1580 I Geffrey Lowndes of Swanborne in ye countye of Bucks beynge of whole mynde & in good & p(er)fecte rembraunce Laude & prayse be unto Allmightye god, make & ordayne this my p(re)sent testamente concerninge herein my last will in manner & forme followinge. That is to saye first I commende my soule unto Almightye god my maker & redeemer And my bodye to be buryed in ye chaunsell of Swanborne aforesayd. Geoffrey Lowndes was appointed Vicar of Swanbourne in 1564 and resigned in 1578 when Thomas Lowndes, apparently his son, took over. So far his relationship to the Lowndes family of Winslow is unclear; Thomas' brother Robert could be Robert Lowndes of Winslow who had a daughter named Joan but numerous other children too. Geoffrey was buried at Swanbourne on 17 Sep 1580. Joan's burial is not recorded.
Alice Lowndes married Ralph Carter (see below) at Swanbourne in 1573. Another daughter Joan must have married Augustine Deverell, and Thomas and Robert Lowndes are the others who make up "my four chyldren".
Will of Ralph Carter of Dunton, yeoman, 1604 (proved 1605)

In the name of god Amen the xxxth daie of June in the yeare of our Lord 1604 I Ralphe Carter of Dunton in the Counte of Bucks yoman of good and perfect Reme(m)brance thankes be to almyghtie god knowing nothing more sure and certaine then Death and nothing more uncertaine then Lyffe ordaine and make this my last Will And testament in manner and Forme following : First I bequeath my soull to Almyghtie god trusting in hym to be one of those that shalbe saved by faith and by the merytes of his passion And my bodie to be buryed in the churchyard of Dunton aforsaid And as for my goodes and chattells I geve and bequeath in manner and fowrme following : First I geve and bequeath to my sonne Thomas vj score pounds to be paid hym at the age of xxiiij yeares or at the end of hys prentishippe which cometh first And yf it happen that he Dep(ar)t this world before the age or tyme aforsaid then my will is that his porcyon shalbe equallie devyded betwixt my executors # I geve and bequeath to my Daughter Sara a hundreth poundes to be paid her in manner and forme following: that is to say fyftie pounds w(i)thin one twelmonth next after my Deceasse And fiftie pounds at the daie of her marriage And yf she happen to marrie w(i)thin the yeare then the former daies of payment to be voide; And to paie her fiftie pounds at the daie of her maryage And fiftie pounds that daie twelmonth after # I geve and bequeath to my dowghter Elsabeth iiij score poundes to be paid her fortie poundes wythin one yeare next after my deceasse And fortie pounds that daye twelmonth after # I geve and bequeath to my dowghter Marie iiij score pounds to be paid her fortie pownds wythin one yeare next after my deceasse And fortie pounds at that Daie twelmonth after And yf it fortune that anie of these my iij Dowghters happen to dep(ar)t this world before their porcyons are dewe unto them then my will is that her or their p(ar)t to be equallie devyded to my \executors/ wyffe And the rest of my {Da} aforsaid Daughters then remayning # I geve and bequeath unto Barnet Collens his iiij children vj li xiij s iiij d to be paid them at the end of iij years next after my Deceasse # I geve to Thomas Dearman his ij children vj li xiij s iiij d to be equallie devyded betwene them And to be paid them at the end of iij years next after my Deceasse # I geve towards the amending of the of the pathwaie from Fullars howse to the church xx s. In the name of god amen I Alice Carter of Dunton widowe late wieff of Raph Carter deceassed do make & ordaine this my last will and testament in manner & forme folowing (tha)t is to say First I bequeath my soule into the handes of god my maker hooping through the merits of Jesus Christ my alone saviour to be saved and by no other meanes and by [sic] bodie to be buried in the church of Dunton & my goodes (tha)t god hath lent me I dispose of in man(n)er folowing. Inprimis I give to my Daughter Constance Collince my best gowne and my best hatt & a paire of flaxen sheetes & to Phillip Collines my godsonn I give iii li.
