Thomas Brandon lived at Rands Farm, Shipton.

I Thomas Brandon of Winslow in the County of Buckingham Yeoman Do make Publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following that is to say, First I Give and bequeath unto my Sons in Law Richard Walker of Winslow aforesaid Butcher and John Bull of the Hamlett of Shipton in the Parish of Winslow aforesaid Dairyman all my ready money and Securities for money Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and what nature or kind so ever To Hold the same to them the said Richard Walker and John Bull their Executors and Administrators upon the several Trusts and to and for the ends Intents and purposes hereinafter specified {that is to say} during the natural life of my dear Wife Catherine Brandon to permit and suffer her to have the free and uncontrouled use but not the disposing Power of all and such part of my said Household Goods and  Furniture Plate China Linen and other Household Effects as she may choose to have for her own accommodation and convenience And to convert the residue thereof into money and to collect and get in all Debts that may be due to me on Bond Note or Simple Contract and after paying and discharging all my Just Debts Funeral Expences the charges of the Probate of this my Will and other incidental Expences of their Executorship Upon Trust to place the same and all other my monies out at Interest in their own Names  and in the name of her my Dear Wife either in the Public Funds or on Government Security or on good Mortgage Security and to call in and place out the same or any other of my monies as they from time to time shall think proper And <I> do and shall permit and suffer or fully authorize and impower my said Wife Catherine Brandon to receive and take all the Interest Dividends and produce thereof for her own use and benefit for and during her natural life And after her Decease In Trust that they the said Richard Walker and John Bull or the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall and do as soon as conveniently  may be put and place out the full sum of Two Hundred Pounds of lawful Sterling money at Interest on Government or other good and sufficient Security or Securities and I do give them full power to call such money in and to place it out at Interest again upon other like good Security or Securities as often as they my said Trustees or the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall see occasion or shall think proper And In Trust to pay the Interest Dividends and produce thereof as the same shall from time to time become due or payable unto my dear Daughter Catherine Wife of Robert Maydon of Quainton in the said County of Bucks to and for her own sole use and benefit for and during the Term of her natural life And I direct that such Interest Dividends or produce shall not at any time be Subject or liable to the  interference Control or Debts or Engagements of her present or any future Husband but that her Receipts alone notwithstanding her present or future Coverture shall be good and effectual discharges to my said Trustees and that the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators for the money to be from time to time paid her in pursuance hereof And from and after the Decease of my said Daughter Catherine Maydon Then Upon

[page 2] Trust to divide the said sum of Two Hundred Pounds and all the Interest or Dividends then due for the same unto and amongst the children of my said daughter Catherine Maydon namely George Maydon Robert Maydon and Elizabeth Maydon in the proportions following (that is to say) unto my Grandsons the said George Maydon and Robert Maydon the sum of Eighty pounds apiece and to my Granddaughter the said Elizabeth Maydon the sum of Forty pounds and I Give and bequeath the same to them accordingly Provided always that in case of the death of either of them my said Grandsons the said George Maydon and Robert Maydon under age and without leaving any Issue of his body I will and direct that the legacy so given and bequeathed to him as aforesaid shall go to and be paid to the Survivor or Survivors of them And as to for and  concerning all the rest and residue of my money and Securities for money Goods Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever from and after the Decease of my said Wife I Give and bequeath the same and every part unto my four Dear Daughters that is to say, Elizabeth the wife of the said Richard Walker Mary the wife of George Cross  of Winslow aforesaid Blacksmith Susannah the wife of the said John Bull and Ann the wife of Thomas Ward of Aylesbury in the said County of Bucks Plumber and Glazier equally between them share and share alike And I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint them the said Richard Walker and John Bull joint Executors or this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me at anytime hereto fore made And I do hereby declare that my said Trustees or either of them or the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall not be charged or chargeable with or answerable or accountable for any more of the said Trust Property than what they shall respectively actually receive not with or for any loss or misapplication thereof or of any part thereof so as the same happen without their or either of their wilful defaults or neglect nor shall either be answerable or accountable for the other of them but each of them for himself and his own Acts Deeds Receipts Payments defaults and neglects only And Lastly that it shall and may be lawful to and for them the said Trustees and Executors each of them and the Executors and  Administrators of the Survivors of them from time to time by and out of the Trust properly to deduct and reimburse themselves and himself respectively all such loss Costs charges Damages and Expences as they or either of them shall or may bear pay sustain expend or be put unto by reason or means or on Account of the execution or performance of the Trusts reposed in them in any respect whatsoever In Witness thereof I the sais Thomas Brandon the Testator to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of paper to the first Sheet thereof have set my Hand only and last Sheet thereof have set my Hand and Seal the Ninth day of August  in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Nine

Notes

Thomas Brandon was aged 78 when he was buried at Winslow in 1810. He was living at East Claydon when he married Catherine Spooner at Winslow in 1768. They lived at Stoke Mandeville in the 1770s, and came to Shipton c.1784. Children mentioned in the will:
