This document is not the official court roll but a draft version kept among the papers of the Duncombe family.

William Wyatt gent. died since the last court seised of a half-acre of land in Blackgrove Feild in Shipton, and the reversion of a messuage and 16½ acres of land in Winslowe expectant on the death of Dinah Wyatt widow, lately the estate of Robert Wyatt deceased, whence falls to the lord for heriot one land of barley worth [blank]. Elizabeth wife of Isaac Judge and Rebecca wife of Thomas Thorpe are his sisters and coheirs, who sought admission as tenants. Rent [blank], fine 34s.

[p.2] Robert Elliott died since the last court seised of certain copyhold lands and tenements, whence falls to the lord for heriot one land of wheat worth [blank]. Before his death, out of court on 3 December last, Robert surrendered through William Shelton jr and Joseph Turner all his messuages, lands and tenements. To the use of such persons and to such uses as are or will be appointed in his last will and testament, and subject to such expenses and payments as are or will be mentioned in it.

John Seaton, late of Winslowe, Carrier, died since the last court seised of certain copyhold lands and tenements, whence falls to the lord for heriot one gelding [spadonem] worth £8. Before his death, out of court on 5 November last, John surrendered through William Shelton jr and William Franklin all his messuages, lands and tenements in which he had any estate. To the use of such persons and to such uses as are or will be appointed in his last will and testament, and subject to such trusts and payments as are or will be mentioned in it.
[John's will was proved in 1723]

[p.3] Augustine Seaton out of court on 7 November last through the steward surrendered a cottage in Winslowe in the separate occupations of William Oddy and John Worsley, with backyard, Augustine's own house west and John Chandler's house east. To the use of Robert Eden sr and Ann his wife and Robert's heirs. Robert has died since the surrender. Robert Eden infant is his son and nearest heir. Ann and Robert Eden infant were called and did not come; first proclamation made.

Lucy Plaistead widow, one of the customary tenants, Nicholas Plaistead and Hester his wife out of court on 13 Feb last surrendered through the steward all their right and equity of redemption in all messuages, lands or tenements once the estate of Nicholas Plaistead deceased, Lucy's husband, and of Lucy. To the use of Thomas Blake of Winslowe, gent., who sought admission. Rent [blank], fine [blank].

Mark Morris sought admission to the reversion expectant on the death of Mary Morris widow of a messuage called The Three Tunns in Winslowe. The premisses came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Mark Morris deceased (Mark's father) and Mary his wife and William Norman at the court on 11 April 1721. He was admitted tenant under the condition mentioned in the surrender. Rent [blank], fine 5s.
[This was probably the cottage which Mark sr and Mary inherited from her father William Hunt in 1700; William Hunt and his wife seem to have kept an alehouse in 1686. John Bailey kept the Three Tuns in 1756-60. According to a mortgage of 1740 it was in Cow Street.]

John Seaton and Katherine his wife out of court on 21 September last surrendered through the steward 3½ acres of arable land lying together at Astmead extending over Demoram Feild in Winslowe, the land of William Lowndes esq. east. To the use of William West son of Roger West of Winslowe who sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 7s.
[John acquired this land in 1701 from Daniel and Ann Seaton]

[p.2] Henry Townesend jr of Whaddon Yeoman died since the last court seised of certain copyhold lands and tenements. Out of court on 16 May last he surrendered through Augustine Seaton and William Stevens all his messuages, lands and tenements to such purposes as are or will be expressed in his last will and testament, and for no other use. Henry duly made his will and devised the premisses to William Townesend and Jonathan Townesend, who were called and did not come; 1st proclamation made.

[p.3] Peter Goldsworth of Winslowe gent. and Rebecca his wife surrendered all their title and interest in a piece or parcel of land in Winslowe which John Seaton late of Winslowe Carrier deceased acquired from Robert Seaton, and the messuage lately erected thereon, late in the occupation of John's mother Mary Seaton, the land of Augustine Seaton north and east. Also in 8 acres of arable land,
[p.4] meadow and grassland in the common fields of Winslowe:

The premisses were formerly surrendered by the said John Seaton and George Blake of Thornton Grazier and Mary his wife to Peter Goldsworth on 29 Dec 1718 for security of payment of £100 and interest on a certain day now past. To the use of Simon Hogson of Winslowe Yeoman, John Wright of Winslowe Wheelwright and Richard Wiseman of Bourton, Buckingham, subject to the condition in the surrender. They sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 16s.

John Seaton and Katherine his wife surrendered 2½ acres of arable land in the parish of Winslowe:

To the use of Thomas Whiteaves of Winslowe Yeoman, who sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

[p.5] Thomas Key of the parish of Grandborough gent. and Diana his wife, customary tenants, surrendered 2 acres of arable land lying together in Demorum Feild in Town Furlong otherwise Overwestwell in the parish of Winslowe, the land late Robert Wyatt's west. To the use of Richard Eden of Winslowe Yeoman, who sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 4s.

John Seaton sr surrendered a messuage, being the west part of his domicile, as the same is now divided, situate in Winslowe, now in the occupation of Susan Cook, with a converted storehouse[?] [Promptuario Novitio] adjoining it, and one bay of barn adjoining the storehouse, and freedom of entry to take water from the pump [Antlia] in the yard belonging to John's domicile. To the use of the said John Seaton and Katherine his wife and whichever lives longer, and then to Daniel Seaton their son. John, Katherine and Daniel sought admission. Rent [blank], fine [blank], Daniel's fealty respited.

The said John Seaton and Katherine his wife surrendered all their copyhold lands and tenements to such purposes as are or will be expressed in John's last will and testament, and for no other use.

[p.6] Robert Seaton, George Blake and John West sought to be admitted to all the messuages, lands and tenements which came into the lord's hands on the death and surrender to use of the last will of John Seaton of Winslowe Carrier deceased, presented at the last court. Seisin was granted according to the terms of the will. Rent [blank], fine [?]
Robert, George and John surrendered all right and equity of redemption in all messuages, lands and tenements in Winslowe lately John Seaton Carrier deceased's and by him surrendered to the use of his will:

To the use of Robert Seaton of Peterborough Brazier and Elizabeth his wife and Robert's heirs. Robert and Elizabeth were called but did not come; 1st proclamation made.

Ann Eden widow, late wife of Robert Eden sr deceased, and Robert Eden infant his son and heir sought to be admitted to a cottage with backyard situate in Winslowe now in the separate occupations of William Oddy and John Worsley, the house of Augustine Seaton west and John Chandler east, which came into the lord's hands on the surrender and death of Robert Eden sr presented at the last court. Seisin was granted to Ann for her life, then to Robert the infant. Rent [blank], fine [blank], Robert's fealty respited.

[p.7] Robert Stevens sr sought to be admitted to a messuage in Shipton in the occupation of William George, and 3 acres of meadow or grassland in the common fields of Shipton:

They came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Henry Townesend jr presented at the court on 26 Oct 1722. Seisin granted on the condition contained in the surrender of the payment of £61 10s. Rent [blank], fine [blank]
