Ordinances [English]

In primis Itt is Ordered That noe p(er)son doe keepe any Sheepe in the Wheate Feilds till Wheate Harvest has beene a Weeke att home unlesse itt bee on their whole Grasse nor in the Beane feilds untill St. Edwards day on paine of forfeiteing for every offence v s. 
Item It is Ordered that noe person doe keepe a Colt in the Wheat feild after the Colt is a Month old except hee bee tyed or kept out of the corne nor in the Beane Feilds after hee is two Monthes Old except hee is tyed or kept out of the Beanes on paine of forfeiteing for every offence ij s vj d 
Item Itt is Ordered that every one doe ring their hoggs and piggs by the xxvth of this instant Aprill and soe to keepe them from digging on paine of forfeiteing for every offence v s.

Francis Dorcett and Samuel Norman were continued as constables for Winslow.
Daniel Beagle and Richard Punn were chosen tithingmen for Winslow.

Thomas Brickwell surrendered a messuage in Winslow, Thomas Deely east, after his death to the use of Priscilla his wife for her life, then to Thomas' rightful heirs. Priscilla sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Susanna Noone sought admission to a messuage which came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Ralph Noone. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Nicolas Coales and Margaret his wife surrendered a messuage in Winslow now in the occupation of Robert Wyatt, with barns, stables, buildings and 2 "layes" of land adjoining containing 1 acre. To the use of Robert Wyatt and Dinah his wife for their lives, then to the heirs of their bodies, or for want of such to Robert's rightful heirs. Rent [blank], fine 5s.
[This may be the messuage in the "East End of Winslow" mentioned in Robert's will, which was in Greyhound Lane]

Harris Smith gent., John Dymmock and Jane his wife surrendered a messuage called the Brick house in or near the Sheepestreete now in the possession of John Dymmock, Thomas Crofts gent. and Samuel Walker or their assigns, with all buildings, barns, stables, orchards, gardens. To the use of William Lowndes of Westminster esq. on condition that it will be void if John pays him £262 5s on 6 April 1690. William Lowndes sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 5s.
[William Lowndes paid John Dimmock £400 for the house in 1692; it was demolished to build Winslow Hall]

William Lowndes esq. surrendered 3 parcels of arable land in the common fields of Winslow [Shipton]:

containing together 1½ acres. To the use of George Elliott. Rent [blank], fine 3s.
George Elliott surrendered 1 arable land and 1 piece of "Greenesword" in the common field of Winslow in Ryefurlong containing 1 acre, William Lowndes esq. north. To the use of William Lowndes and Robert his son. Rent [blank], fine 3s. Robert's fealty respited.
[This exchange is mentioned in the Lowndes rolls (as is the following entry); William referred to it as Ryefurlong "in the new closes"]

John Seaton sr surrendered a parcel of arable land containing 4 ridges with a piece of "Greenesword" in New Mill Field in a furlong called Short Hawkslow, containing 1 acre, the land of William Gyles sr east. To the use of William Lowndes esq. and Robert his son. Rent [blank], fine 2s.
William Lowndes surrendered a parcel of arable land containing 3 ridges with a piece of "Greenesword" in Millfeild in a furlong called Hawkslow, containing 1½ acres, Widow Chandler north. To the use of John Seaton sr. Rent [blank], fine 3s.

Robert Heale surrendered 2 "Layes" in Winslow field in Clarkesfurlong containing 1½ acres, and a headland in Demorum Feild in Goresbush furlong abutting on it. To the use of John Heanes. Rent [blank], fine 4s.

[f.3r] Robert Lowndes son of William Lowndes esq. sought admission to all the lands which came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Silvester Claver, Robert Adams, William Deverill and Katherine his wife. Rent [blank], fine [blank], fealty respited.
[This sale for £300 in 1687 is recorded in the Lowndes roll]

Richard Phipps and Robert Grainge surrendered a parcel of arable land and meadow in the common field of Winslow in Old Mill Feild in Rye furlong containing 2 acres, the land late Thomas Miller's south. To the use of William Lowndes esq. and Robert his son. Rent [blank], fine 4s.
[William Lowndes paid £40, and they were "then layd into the new closes at Dean Hill"]

On 16 May 1688 Nathaniel Haslewood surrendered by Richard Phipps and Thomas Godwynn all that part of the inn called the Angell Inn now in the occupation of the said Thomas, with a close adjoining Crosse lanes containing 1 acre. To the use of John, Nathaniel and Benjamin his sons, equally divided between them. If one dies before the age of 21, to be equally divided between the survivors. Rent [blank], fine 5s. Fealty respited.

Henry Steevens died since the last court seised of certain customary lands. John Steevens his son is the nearest heir. 1st proclamation made.

Nathaniel Haslewood died since the last court seised of 10 acres in the field of Winslow. William Haslewood his son is the nearest heir. 1st proclamation made.

On 16 May 1688 Nathaniel Haslewood surrendered [as above] a messuage being part of the inn called the Angell Inn now in his own possession with barn or stable on the north-east part of the yard containing two storeys [contignaciones] with use of the yard, "Brewhouse", "Kitchen Pump", with free ingress etc. to cross through the gates. To the use of William Haslewood his son, provided that if William dies before the age of 21, the surrender will be to the use of his brothers John, Nathaniel and Benjamin, to be equally divided between them. 1st proclamation made.

Francis Stutsberry surrendered all his lands in the fields of Winslow:

containing 3 acres in all. To the use of Christopher Stutsbury who sought admission.
