Will of George Walker, retired gardener, 1910 (proved 1919)

This is the last Will and Testament of me George Walker of East St Adstock in the County of Buckingham made this First day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and ten. I hereby revoke all  Wills by me at any time heretofore. I appoint my eldest Son William George Walker of Swanbourne to be my executor and direct that all my debts and funeral expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my said Executor all my real and personal property whatsoever and wheresoever upon trust that my said Executor will sell calling collect and convert into money all my Property or so much thereof as does not consist of ready money and after paying thereout all my just debts my funeral and Testamentary expenses to invest the balance then remaining in some security authorized by law for such investment and to pay out of my Estate unto my Wife Mary Ann Walker the sum of Twelve pounds per annum during her Widowhood and upon the decease of my said Wife I direct that my said Executor shall pay share & divide the whole amount then remaining unto and equally between mu six children viz:- William Geo. Walker, George Daniel Walker, George John White Walker, Annie Emily Viccars, Selina Allen and Rosetta Wise, if they shall be living at the time of the decease of my said Wife and if either of my children shall predecease her then I direct the share that he she or they would have ben entitled to  if then living will be paid to the child if only one or unto and equally between all the children if more than one of such child or children of mine so dying. In witness whereof I the said George Walker the Testator have set my hand this First day of October in the year One thousand nine hundred and ten. George Walker [signature]

On the Third day of April 1919. Probate of this Will was granted at Oxford to William George Walker, the Son, the sole Executor.

Dated this Tenth day of April 1919.

BE IT KNOWN that George Walker of Winslow in the County of Buckingham retired Gardener formerly of East Street Adstock in the same County who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at Winslow aforesaid, within the District of the Counties of Oxford, Berks and Buckingham, died on the 17th day of January 1919 at Adstock aforesaid.

AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN  that at the date hereunder written the last will and Testament of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Oxford, and that administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to William George Walker of Swanbourne in the County of Buckingham Manager of Cooperative Stores, the Son of the Deceased, the sole Executor named in the said Will.

Notes

George Walker was recorded in the 1911 Census at Adstock, aged 73 and born at Swanbourne. His wife Mary Ann (nee White) was aged 70 and born at Hoggeston. He was probably the George Walker listed in Buckingham Road, Winslow in the 1918 Census (exact address not known). George's death aged 81 was registered at Buckingham (as he died at Adstock) in 1919. Two of the children mentioned in the will lived at Winslow:
