In etc. On 21 March AD [1467] I William Nasshe of Wynselowe, of healthy memory, make my will etc. First I bequeath my soul etc. Item I bequeath for the repair of the high altar 6d. Item to the light of St Mary in the church 6d. Item to the light of St Nicholas 4d, and to each of the other lights 4d. Item to the repair of the porch 12d. Item to the church of St Michael at St Albans 40d. The residue etc. I give and bequeath to my executors, and Agnes my wife, John my son and William Cowp(er) my daughter's husband I ordain, make and appoint to be my executors to dispose for the salvation of my soul as etc.

Notes

William at Nasshe alias Ballard and his wife Agnes bought a messuage in Winslow in 1446 and 2 acres of land in Shipton in 1453 (WMCB pp.627-8, 668).

The wife of William Cowper (d.1481) was named Isabel.

Item to the altar of St Mary in purification 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Nicholas 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Thomas the martyr 1 bushel of barley. Item for the repair of the torches 2 bushels of barley. Item I bequeath for the maintenance of the bells 20d. Item to the light of the holy cross 2 bushels of barley. The residue etc. I give and bequeath to my executors, and John Nasshe my son and William Cowp(er) I ordain, make and appoint executors to dispose etc.
