Notes

John Malens' burial is not recorded at Winslow. His daughter Deborah was baptised on 16 June 1660. His siblings do not seem to have lived at Winslow. His baking business probably passed to Roger Atwood (d.1670).

Ambrose Malin aged 37 was buried at St Botolph, Bishopgate in April 1661.

pestary: this seems to be a variant of pistrine (Latin: pistrinum), which the OED gives as a rare word for bakehouse. Alternatively it could be a variant of pastry, a larder or room for making pastry.

gigg: probably a variant of jag (or jug), a small cartload, usually of hay. The OED has some examples of it being used for corn. The type of carriage called a gig is much later.
