Notes

Raynes Lowe was descended from the Low(e) family who owned the manor of Clifton Reynes near Olney (Visitation of Bucks 1634). His grandfather Thomas Low was the son of Thomas Low of Sherington, and married Parthenia, daughter of Thomas Price of Wollaston, Northants. Thomas and Parthenia had 3 sons, Thomas, Anthony (d.1637 according to Sherington parish register) and Francis, one of whom must have been Raynes' father. Parthenia Low, widow, was buried at St Laurence, New Brentford on 24 March 1670/1. Raynes probably came to Winslow when his mother remarried as the Lowes do not seem to have been connected with Winslow otherwise. Emma Green, widow, was buried at Winslow on 16 Dec 1708; she was previously married to John Bletchley (d.1670).
