Notes

In October 1910 Winslow RDC approved plans for a new house at Shipton for Mr E.B. Hayman. On 22 Oct, the Buckingham Advertiser reported "the distressing death on the railway near Linslade of Mr. Francis Davies, stud-groom to E.B. Hayman, Esq., Shipton House, Winslow".

E.B. Hayman was 61 when he died. He was born at Axminster, Devon. In 1881 he was living in Willesden with his mother Edith and siblings, and working as "tutor in private school". In 1891 he was "stock jobber agent", living in Hampstead with his mother and siblings. They were still there in 1901, when he had become "stocks & shares dealer". By this time they had 4 live-in servants. He is recorded at Hampstead again in 1911 so must have been using his house at Shipton as a country retreat. The whole household had moved to Shipton in 1921:

Ellis B. Hayman Head 58y 9m single b. Axminster Stock Exchange (retired)
Edith M.R. Hayman Mother 82y 1m widow b. Dalwood, Devon
Herbert B. Hayman Brother 48y 8m single b. Kilburn Stock Exchange (members)
Edith F.A. Marsden Niece 20y 9m single b. Hampstead

Emily Honor Servant 20y 1m single b. Steeple Claydon Cook
Jesse T. Carter Servant 21y 2m single b. Winslow Groom
Alice M. Nelson Nurse 37y 6m single b. London Trained Nurse

Next door was his gardener William Hill from Coulsdon, Surrey, with wife and two children.
