In the name of god ame(n) the 24 of July in ye yere of our lord god 1587. I George Gibs of Addington in ye cou(n)tie of Bucks husba(n)dma(n) sick in bodie but of p(er)fect memorie, do make my last will & testame(n)t in man(ner) & forme following. fyrst I bequithe my soule unto almyghty god my creatour, my body to be buried in ye churchyerd of Addyngton aforsaid: and as for my worldly goodes I give and bequith them as followeth. fyrst I give & bequithe to Will(ia)m my sonne xij pownds of good & laufull mony of Ingland or somuche in valew eyther in goods or cattell. my greatest panne save one at ye age of xvj yeares. It(em) to George my sonne xij li & my great pott at the age of xvj yeares. t(em) to Alis my doughter xij li & a bullock, at ye same age. It(em) I will that if any of my children do die before they be maried that then that portion to remaine to the lyver or lyvers. It(em) I give to George Scott, & Will(ia)m Scott my serva(n)ts & cousins to eyther of them x s It(em) to John Barcker my godson a busshell of mylcorne. It(em) to Alis Gibbs my goddaft(er) a busshell of milcorne. It(em) to Thomas Chappell my godson vj d It(em) to Annes Barcker my cosin, a busshell of wheat. It(em) to Jone Scott my sister a busshell of mylcorne. It(em) to Richard Hilsdon halff a busshell of mylcorne. It(em) to John Cudsden halff a busshell of mylcorne. Notes

George Gybs was buried at Addington on 19 Oct 1587. He married Frances Skygs there on 11 Nov 1577. Their children were baptised: William 1578, Alice 1582, George 1586. The family doesn't appear in Addington parish register after George's burial. It's not clear so far what connection (if any) there was to the Gibbs family of Winslow.
