Will of Squier Emerton, gardener, 1720 (proved 1721)

In the name of God Amen I Squier Emerton of Winslowe in the County of Bucks Gardiner being indisposed in body but of sound & disposing mind & memory praised be Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the Certainty of death & the uncertain time thereof doe make & ordain this my last Will & Testam(en)t in manner & form following that is to say  First & principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it hopeing through the meritts & intercession of Jesus Christ for my Blessed Lord & Saviour for pardon & remission of all my sins my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried att the discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as for such temporall Estate as it hath pleased God to blesse me with I Give and dispose thereof as followeth  Impr(im)is I Give Will devise & Bequeath unto Nathan Emerton my Son the Sum(m)e of one Shilling & all my wearing apparell 

Item I Give & Bequeath unto Mary Windmill my daughter the Sum(m)e of five shillings to be paid within Six Months after my decease

Item all the rest & residue of my personall estate wheresoever & whatsoever I Give and Bequeath unto Jane Emerton my daughter paying my debts & legacies whom I make Sole Executrix of this my last Will And I doe hereby revoke all former & other Wills by me heretofore made and doe declare this only to be my last Will & Testament  In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand & Seall this third day of September in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & twenty

Notes

Squire [sic] Emerton was buried at Winslow on 6 Sep 1720.

Mary Emmarton married William Windmill at Winslow on 30 May 1717. She was bap. 17 July 1696; her mother's name was given as Anne. Her brother Nathan Emerton married Jane Gibbs on 24 Jan 1712/13. He and their sister Jane do not seem to have been baptised at Winslow.
