Item I bequeath to the high altar 2d. Item I bequeath to the image of St Laurence 1d. Item to the light of the holy cross 2d. Item to the repair of the torches 2d. The residue etc. I give and bequeath to my executors. And John Elyot my father and Juliana my wife I ordain, make and appoint my executors to dispose, etc.

[Probate 27 Aug 1464]

Richard's father was probably the John Elyot whose will was proved in 1479. The very small bequests suggest that he did not have much property of his own.
