This is the last Will and Testament of me Mabel Nora Dodge of Winslow in the County of Buckingham Spinster Whereas under the Will of my Grandfather Benjamin Dodge I am entitled in reversion immediately expectant upon the decease of my Mother Sarah Dodge to one third part of certain Closes called Workhouse Grounds and Coleman’s Orchard with four Cottages thereon and a Close known as the Great Close all situate and being in the Parish of Steeple Claydon in the said County of Buckingham or to a one third part of the proceeds of sale thereof And under the joint operation of the said Will of my said Grandfather and the Will of my Father John Joseph Dodge I am also entitled in reversion immediately expectant upon the decease of my said Mother to one half of the one third share expectant as aforesaid of my Brother Benjamin Sear Dodge in the said hereditaments the proceeds of sale thereof Now I hereby devise and bequeath all my shares expectant as aforesaid in the said hereditaments the proceeds of sale thereof to my said Mother absolutely and I bequeath all other my real and personal estate to my said Mother absolutely And I appoint her sole executrix of this my Will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this First day of November One thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Signed by the said Mabel Nora Dodge and declared by her to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who being all present at the same time have at her request in her presence and the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto.

On the Thirtieth day of July 1914. Probate of this Will was granted at Oxford to Sarah Dodge Widow, the Mother, the sole Executrix.

BE IT KNOWN that Mabel Nora Dodge of Winslow in the County of Buckingham Spinster who at the time of her death had a fixed place of abode at Winslow aforesaid, within the District of the Counties of Oxford, Berks and Buckingham, died on the 15th day of May 1914 at Winslow aforesaid.
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the last will and Testament of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Oxford, and that administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Sarah Dodge of Winslow aforesaid Widow, the Mother of the deceased, the sole Executrix named in the said Will.

Mabel, who was 34 when she died, moved to The Beeches, Buckingham Road, Winslow with her parents and brother before 1898, when her brother Benjamin Sare Dodge died. Mabel was born at Steeple Claydon, but in 1891 she and her parents were living at Leyton, Essex. Mabel was active at Winslow in tennis and music. Her father John Joseph Dodge died in 1906. Sarah Dodge the mother died in 1932.
