LITTLE HORWOOD
The Abbot of Saint Albans holds Little Horwood of the lord King and it pertains to the estate which the said Abbot holds of the Lord King by service of six knights for forty days as a result of a feoffment by King Offa. Of which the holding of the said Abbot in the wood is two hides and he has a windmill and holds the church of Little Horwood to his own proper uses. In villeinage there are three hides whereof each virgate pays 10s 3d per year or works to the value. Tenants or those that are the kin of villeins pay fines at the will of the said Abbot and other works which purtain to their servile condition. Of which tenants Robert son of Stephen holds one half virgate etc. In free tenants Simon dark holds one half virgate of land for 3s 4d per annum of Lord Adam Aynel. Richard of Horwood one half virgate in the same manner. Walter Cooper one half virgate in the same manner. Geoffrey Henry half a virgate in the same manner. The aforesaid Adam Aynel has the reliefs and mortuaries of the above written four free tenants and pays to the said Abbot the separate annual fines of the same free tenants less these sums. The said Lord Adam Aynel holds two virgates for 12s to the said Abbot. William Brown one virgate for 10s per annum. John de Eses holds one virgate for 7s per annum. John Cooper one half virgate for 6s 8d per annum. John son of Alexander one half virgate in the same manner.
LIBERTIES: LITTLE HORWOOD The same Abbot has in Little Horwood full view of frankpledge and the freedom of the chase he is accustomed to have in the woods of his property of Little Horwood but following the covenant made between the said Abbot and the Lord John son of John by which the said Abbot gave the hunting in the said wood for four days in the year namely for two days at the Feast of the Exultation of Saint Cross and for two days at the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin as the covenant made between them purports.
WINSLOW The Abbot of Saint Albans holds Winslow entirely in the same manner and by the same service in which manner and by which service he holds Little Horwood next prescribed and as a result of the same feoffment of Winslow and of the said Horwood he holds the church of the said Winslow to his own proper uses. In demesne is one windmill and six virgates of land. In villeinage three hides of which each virgate pays 7s 1d per annum or works to the value. The tenants or those that are kin of villeins pay their fines at the will of the said Abbot and other works which pertain to their servile condition. Of which tenants Richard Albin holds one virgate etc.
HAMLET OF SHIPTON The same Abbot holds in villeinage in the Hamlet of Shipton five hides of which each virgate of land pays 4s 7½d per annum or works to the value. The tenants and those that are tenants of them owe suit and service to the court of Winslow. Of which John Scott holds one virgate etc. In cottagers there are four cottagers owing the same services and conditions of which each of which each pays 1s 6d per annum or works to the value. Of which cottagers Alice daughter of Peter holds one cottage etc.
In burgesses there are ten burgesses of the same tenure of which each pays 3s per annum and are these: Nicholas Marshall, Gilbert Smat, William Bendenes, William Bani, John son of Peter, John Bani, Hugh Long, John Bastard, Adam Luce, Hugh Bastard. In free tenants William son of Robert holds one virgate paying 2s 6d per annum and suit at the court twice in a year. Richard and Simon Wodeford pay 2s 6d per annum and suit at the court twice in a year

The Abbot of Saint Albans has in Winslow the view of frankpledge and payment for pannage and services and a market on Thursday with the appurtenances and a portmote, pillory and ducking stool and gallows, coronorship and warren in the fields of the said Winslow
