Notes

Cananore (now Kannur) is a city and a Municipal Corporation in the Kannur district, state of Kerala, India.

The 80th Regiment of Foot was created in 1793 for the war against France. It served in South Africa, Ceylon, Egypt, and India from 1803. Major-General St Leger commanded it from 1795 to 1800. Joseph Cooke must have been transferred to it from another unit.
