Notes

Rosa Ann Roads was aged 70 when she died in 1926. She was born at North Crawley, nee Adkins. In 1921 she, her husband Harry (aged 64, born at Ledburn) and daughter Emily aged 28 were living at Manor Farm, Dunton.  Two other daughters, Dorothy aged 26 and Daisy aged 24, both “lady nurses”, were listed as visitors. Her children were born at Southwick, Northants. She must have moved to Winslow after Harry died later in 1921. They don't seem to have had any close connection to other Roads families in Winslow.

Emily was still living at 77 High Street in 1928, and the tenant in 1934 is listed as “D. Roads”, probably Dorothy. Emily married (as his second wife) Walter Smith in 1928 and later lived at 34 Station Road.

Harry Roads’ will was proved at Oxford on 24 March 1922. Probate was granted to Rosa and his effects were worth £6,378. Her grant of probate must refer to provisions in his will.
