Notes

On 5 Feb 1731/2 Charles March of Dinton aged 25, bachelor, applied for a licence to marry Mary Ealing [presumably Illing] of Little Horwood, widow, at St Benet Paul's Wharf, and they were married there on the same day. Alice the middle daughter was born in 1736 according to her age given in the Winslow court rolls. The dates of the death of Charles March's first wife Mary and his marriage to his second wife Jane haven't been traced. Mary the eldest daughter married Thomas Price of Hollis Street St Clement Danes, butter factor, and Alice the second daughter married Edward Baxter of Lambs Conduit Street, St Andrew Holborne, cheesemonger in 1763.

Charles March's copyhold property in Winslow was what became Lawn House (or at least it was on the same site). In 1749 it was granted to his three daughters, and was in the occupation of William Gibbs, carrier, who was probably in charge of the Winslow end of the butter business.
