Henry Hughes was buried at Winslow in 1827 aged 67. He must have been a tenant farmer but there is no further information about where he lived.
The manor court book for 1831 records that Thomas Hughes of Bottle Claydon labourer & James Knibbs of Salden dairyman on 3 Nov last acknowledged to have received of George Mayne victualler, carpenter & joiner the principal sum of £200 under a conditional surrender of 26 March 1828. This must have been an investment of Henry's money.
